Requirements
A PC, Mac or Linux machine setup with monitor.
A Direct Thermal Printer installed, most are supported, with the common 100x150mm white label stock.
A barcode scanner setup and working, most are supported.
Install QZ Tray
For the WRHS web app to communicate seamlessly with your printers it is a requirement to install QZ Tray. QZ Tray is a lightweight application that allows us to send documents to your printer without needing confirmation.
The first time WRHS tries to access your printers via QZ Tray, it will ask for confirmation and either display WRHS, or parent company RAIDN. You will only have to do this once.
Setup printers
Your printers should already be setup in your operating system. You need to tell WRHS which printers to use for printing thermal or A4 documents.
Login to WRHS.
Navigate to Settings -> Devices.
Click the dropdown for Thermal Printer and select your thermal printer (if you do not see printers in the dropdown list please check that you have QZ Tray installed and running).
Click the dropdown the A4 Printer and select your A4 printer.
Click SAVE.
Note: You might not need an A4 printer installed. The A4 printer would only be used for some international shipments requiring Commercial Invoices, Waybill docs, or for printing Manifests.
System Barcodes
WRHS has a few special system barcodes that are required for Packing. They are
~OK
~ALL
~BOX
The ~OK barcode is used regularly for confirming things using your barcode scanner, saving users from having to touch a keyboard/mouse. It is the most used barcode. We recommend printing it on a thermal label, cutting it out and sticking it on the front of your thermal printer - or anywhere else easily accessible on the Pack Bench.
The ~ALL barcode is a special barcode that should be used sparringly. It allows you to effectively skip the Pack process. If you scan ~ALL while scanning items in Pack it will automatically marked everything unscanned as scanned. Some businesses use it during busy periods, or occasionally for pickups/POS orders that are urgent and were just scan picked - we do not recommend using it.
The ~BOX barcode can be used while scanning items in Pack to indicate that scanned items following the ~BOX scan should be automatically cartonised into another box at the Ship step. It's a way, for very large orders, to make the carbonisation more efficient. Some of our wholesale customers use it, many B2C customers do not.
Enhanced Scanning
While WRHS supports the use of almost all barcode scanners, we also offer an Enhanced Scanning mode which includes haptic feedback when errors occur and means you no longer need to click into inputs before scanning. This Enhanced Scanning is only currently supported with our range of CODEK scanners.
Turn on Enhanced Scanning
Login to WRHS
Navigate to Settings -> Devices
Click the checkbox to turn on Enhanced Scanning (there is no need to click save)
Click the "Connect Scanner" button.
The browser will present a list of devices. Select GD32-CDC_ACM.
Using the barcode scanner, scan the barcode on the screen that says "Switch to enhanced mode".
Turn off Enhanced Scanning
Login to WRHS
Navigate to Settings -> Devices
Uncheck the checkbox to turn off Enhanced Scanning.
Using the barcode scanner, scan the barcode on the screen that says "Switch to normal mode".
A browser limitation prevents Enhanced Scanning from working in multiple browser tabs at once. If you are having trouble connecting to the scanner check there is not another open WRHS tab that has already connected to the scanner. Most browsers will show a little computer chip icon, or similar, on the tab that is connected to the scanner.
