WRHS breaks fulfillment into the following 3 steps: PICK, PACK, SHIP.
At scale, all Fulfillments should be scan picked and scan packed before being shipped to maximise accuracy. But, these steps are not mandatory - the flow doesn't have to be PICK->PACK->SHIP. You can manually pick a fulfillment then PACK->SHIP. Or you can manually pick and pack, and simply SHIP.
When getting started, it can be helpful to start with SHIP and then work backwards add in PACK and later PICK.
Shipping a fulfillment involves the following steps:
Open the Fulfillment in WRHS.
Ensure the Fulfillment is in the PICK status.
Click the green SHIP button at the top of the screen.
Take the physical items, ensuring they are correct and package them up.
Add additional parcels on the screen if necessary and move the correct items into the correct parcels. This ensures we can calculate a weight for each parcel.
Click the large green button at the bottom of the screen.
Labels will be generated for the allocated carrier and sent to the printer/s.
Attach the labels and ensure the fulfillment is pilled with fulfillments for the same carrier service.
