The Blue “M” button is for pairing. It actually means “Match”. Ignore the Orange "P" button. It is NOT for pairing as one might expect.
The most common issue with using these scanners in a warehouse with other K220’s is cross-pairing. A base allows multiple handsets to be paired for it, but it will always search for the original which might now be connected to something else. Pairing issues are easy to identify by a flashing red light on the base.
Red light is flashing on the base
A flashing red light means the base is trying to connect to the handset that was originally paired with it.
Solution:
Press and hold the blue M button for 5+ seconds until the red light stops flashing.
Place the handset on the base and wait a few seconds.
Press the blue M button on the base to re-pair it with the handset.
Red light is NOT flashing on the base.
Every other issue we’ve encountered can be solved with the following process.

There is a small reset button on the bottom of the handset. We’ve not yet seen a scenario where this was actually needed.

Sometimes packing a large order can take longer than the default auto-sleep interval of 5 minutes and the scanner can go to sleep - it's a bit of a pain. Note you don't actually need to put it back on the base to wake it up, you can simply pull the trigger and wait a few seconds. Still, some packers find it useful to increase the auto-sleep timer to 10 or 20 mins. The batteries in these devices are larger than most and we've not had reports of flat batteries yet with longer sleep timers.
